Old woman dies after being hit by a train in Natore

An old woman named Feroza Begum (60) died after being hit by a train in Natore’s Lalpur.
On Tuesday (November 07) morning, the body of the old lady was recovered from the central cemetery of Gopalpur municipality, adjacent to Azimnagar station of the upazila.
The deceased woman is a girl from Bhuiyapara village of Gopalpur municipality of the upazila.
Badiur Rahman Badar, the nephew of the deceased, president of Gopalpur Bazar Committee and former member of Zilla Parishad, said that his aunt Feroza Begum was hit by the Tungipara Express train while crossing the railway line in front of Gopalpur Municipal Central Cemetery on Monday night. On Tuesday morning, when the locals informed, the family members recovered the body and took it home.
Harunuzzaman Romel, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Ishwardi Railway Police (GRP) Police Station, said that the railway police visited the spot after receiving the news of the deceased. Legal action will be taken later.
