Natore: An old woman named Feroza Begum (60) died after being hit by a train in Natore’s Lalpur.
The accident took place in front of Gopalpur municipal central cemetery near Azimnagar station of the upazila on Monday (November 6) night.
The family members recovered his body from the spot on Tuesday (November 7) morning.
Feroza Begum is the daughter of Bhuru Pramanik of Bhuipara village of Gopalpur municipality of upazila.
Badiur Rahman Badar, the nephew of the deceased, President of the Gopalpur Bazar Committee and former Zilla Parishad member, told Banglanews that his aunt Feroza Begum died after being hit by the Tungipara Express train while crossing the railway line in front of the central cemetery of Gopalpur Municipality at around 10:30 pm on Monday. This morning, when the locals informed, the family members recovered his body and took it home.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) Harunuzzaman Romel of Ishwardi Railway Police (GRP) police station told Banglanews that the railway police visited the spot after receiving the news of the deceased. Legal action will be taken in this incident.
