Suneet Halder, Howrah: A lorry loaded with betel nuts overturned on the slope of the dome due to a burst wheel (Tragic Accident). 1 dead, 7 injured in the accident. The accident happened around 6:30 in the morning. According to police sources, the lorry overturned on National Highway 16 on the way from Mecheda to Barrackpore. After the accident, traffic on National Highway No. 16 was disrupted for some time.
Still the silence of the dawn is all around. Suddenly loud noise. According to police sources, a small lorry loaded with betel nuts from Mecheda on its way to Shyambazar in Kolkata and Barrackpur in North Twenty-four Parganas overturned on National Highway 16 near the flyover. On getting the news, along with the local residents, the police of Domjur police station rushed to the spot. The injured were taken to Howrah District Hospital. One died on the way to the hospital. Seven injured are still under treatment. Initially, it was reported that one of the wheels of the lorry burst while moving. After the accident, traffic on National Highway 16 was disrupted. However, when the police removed the lorry from the road, traffic resumed.
