An old woman named Feroza Begum (60) died after being hit by a train in Natore’s Lalpur. The accident took place on the railway line in front of the central cemetery of Gopalpur town near Azimnagar station on Monday night. On Tuesday morning, the family members took the body of the old lady after receiving the news. Ishwardi Railway Police (GRP) Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Harunuzzaman Romel confirmed the matter.
The deceased Feroza Begum is the daughter of Bhuru Pramanak of Bhuipara village of Gopalpur municipality of upazila.
Badiur Rahman Badar, nephew of the deceased and president of the Gopalpur market committee, said that her aunt Feroza Begum was returning home from the market yesterday around 10:30 pm. It is believed that he died when he was hit by the Tungipara Express train while crossing the railway line in front of Gopalpur Municipal Central Cemetery. On Tuesday morning, when the locals informed, the body was brought home.
Harunuzzaman Romel, OC of Ishwardi Railway Police (GRP) police station, said that the railway police visited the spot after receiving information about a person killed by the train. Legal action will be taken later.
