Awami League will observe ‘Freedom Fighters Killing Day’ today

November 7 is the most discussed and criticized day in Bangladesh politics. Awami League observes this day as ‘Freedom Fighter Killing Day’. For many it is National Revolution and Solidarity Day, for many it is the day of the coup of the soldiers and for many, and for many it is the day of the killing of freedom fighters.

Dhaka Metropolitan South Awami League has organized a discussion meeting in front of Awami League’s central office on Bangabandhu Avenue to observe this eventful day as ‘Freedom Fighter Killing Day’ across the country. Besides, Bangladesh Awami League and its affiliated organizations have been instructed to observe Tuesday as ‘Freedom Fighter Killing Day’ across the country. Central leaders including Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader will address the ceremonial meeting at 3 pm on this day. Dhaka Metropolitan South Awami League President Abu Ahmed Mannafi will preside over the rally.

This information was announced in a press release signed by the party’s branch secretary Sayem Khan on Monday (November 6).

The Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSAD) will observe the Sepoy Janata Uprising Day across the country on Monday. On this occasion, the Jasad Central Committee organized a tribute and discussion meeting with the portrait of Jasad leader Shaheed Colonel Taher Biruttam at Shahid Colonel Taher Auditorium at 3 pm.

The general secretary of the party, Shirin Akhtar, has called upon all the district and upazila committees of Jasdar to observe the historic Sepoy-Janata Uprising Day through a program similar to the central programme.
