Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s (DMP) Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) has arrested the prime accused in the police murder case after violent beating around BNP rally.

DMP Media and Public Relations Department Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) KN Roy Niyati gave this information on Monday night. The police arrested three more people earlier in this incident.

In a small message given to the media, KN Roy Niyati said that a briefing will be held in the BNP rally on October 28 regarding the arrest of the main accused in the police murder case. The press conference will be held at the DMP Media Center on Tuesday, November 7 at 12 noon.

BNP held a rally in front of the party office in Nayapaltan of the capital on October 28 in a one-party movement to bring down the government. At the same time, Awami League was holding a peace and development rally at the South Gate of National Mosque Baitul Mukarram. And Jamaat-e-Islami was in the field towards Motijheel in defiance of the ban. During the rally of BNP, BNP clashed with the police in nearby areas including Dainik Bangla Mor, Kakrail and Paltan. Fires, vandalism and cocktails are thrown. Police constable Amirul was beaten to death.
