East Burdwan, November 6 (H.E.): On Monday, a riot broke out in the area over the ‘death’ of a resident of Bhatar. Chotan Sardar (34), a resident of Bauripara, was taken to Bhatar Block Hospital due to heart attack. He was treated and discharged.
After that he became dull after bringing home. The car was turned around and taken to the hospital. But the doctors said that the young man died. After the dead body was brought home, preparations for cremation were going on. There was a cry in the neighborhood. Gangajal was given to the mouth of the dead according to tradition.
Just then the ‘dead’ youth drinks water. Hands and feet were shaking. On Monday morning, there was a riot in the area around this incident. Immediately, relatives and neighbors brought Chhotan Sardar back to Bhatar Hospital. Why is it declared dead without being tested for being ‘alive’? This allegation started huge protests. Immediately, the police force of Bhatar police station came to the spot. They pacify agitated crowds.
Under the pressure of the locals, Bhatar Block Hospital doctors re-examined. After they responded, the family members of the deceased started preparing to take them to the Burdwan Hospital.
The people of the neighborhood piled into the car and left for Burdwan. After going some way, they came back after seeing that the body of Chhotan Sardar had gone limp.
There was still ambivalence between neighbors and relatives. After the body is brought home, it is sometimes placed. Sometimes mouth watering is given. Others offered to take him back to the hospital. Although slowly the body starts to harden. Then everyone was sure that Chhotan Sardar had died.
It is known that Chotan used to run a tea shop at Nasigram intersection in Vatar Bazar. Health was quite good. He was loved by all for his good use. It is learned that Choton was immediately taken to Bhata Rural Hospital when he suddenly started having chest pains at home around three in the morning on Monday. According to the family members of the deceased, “If the doctors had given proper treatment in the beginning, he would have survived.” According to police sources, no complaint has been filed in this regard.
