In the murder case of third class student Abu Horaira of VJ Government High School, Chuadanga, the court ordered the death penalty and a fine of Tk 50,000 to Momin, son of Shahidul Islam of Taltala Gorasthanpara, the main accused.
In this case, Parvez Ahmed (28), son of Mottaleb of Skulpara of the same area, and Ashrafuzzaman alias Rijon (30), son of Jamaat Ali of Kutipara of the same area, were sentenced to 14 years rigorous imprisonment and fined Tk 20,000.
The learned judge Masud Ali of Chuadanga Additional District and Sessions Judge Court announced the verdict on Monday (November 5) afternoon. The houses of the slain schoolchildren and convicts are in Taltala village of Chuadanga Municipal area. Parvez is absconding among the convicts.
According to the summary of the case, Abu Horaira, the only son of Abdul Barek of Taltala Gorasthanpara, went missing on the afternoon of January 19, 2022 while going to private school. Abdul Barek, the father of the school student killed in the incident, filed a case against private teacher Ranju Hossain and five others at the Sadar police station.
Mizanur Rahman, Sub-Inspector (Investigation) of Sadar Police Station submitted an investigation report to the court on June 30 of that year against the said three persons after the investigation.
After the testimony of 13 witnesses in this sensational case, the judge of the court declared the verdict against the accused as the allegations were proved beyond doubt.
