A day after the incident of jumping into the Kirtinasha river with three children in Shariatpur’s Naria upazila, the police recovered the body of the missing boy. The mother has not been found yet.
OC Hafizur Rahman of Naria police station said that the body was recovered from Kirtinasha river in Bhojeshwar port area of upazila on Monday morning.
The deceased Shah Abir (7) is the son of Bahar Madbar of Bayati Kandi village of Maijpara area of Japsa union of the upazila. Bahar’s wife Salma Begum (30) is still missing.
Earlier on Sunday, Salma jumped into Kirtinasha river with three children. At that time, his three-year-old daughter Anika and one-year-old son Solaiman were rescued alive.
Local Habibur Rahman Maghdam said, “In the morning, the body of the child Shah Abir was caught in the fishing net in the Kirtinasha river in the port area of Bhojeshwar. Later the body was handed over to the police.
OC Hafizur Rahman said that the body of child Shah Abir has been recovered. But still his mother Salma Begum could not be rescued.
The rescue operation of the fire service and the local diving team is still ongoing, said this police official.
On Sunday morning around 10:30 AM, Salma left the house with her three children on an easy bike because of a family dispute.
After that, Salma got down from the easy bike and suddenly jumped into the Kirtinasha river with her three children. Locals rescued children Anika and Solaiman and sent them to Shariatpur Sadar Hospital.
