Symbolic imagePolice recovered the body of a laborer in Kishoreganj. His name is Rajan Mia (27). He was found lying dead on the ground in Katakhal village of Jashodal Union of Sadar Upazila on Monday morning. Later, the police went and recovered the body around 9:30 am.
The relatives complained that the shirt was tied around Rajan’s neck. He was killed by strangulation.
However, the police say that no injury marks were found on Rajan’s body. His shirt was hanging naturally around his neck. An autopsy will reveal the exact cause of death.
Rajan Mia is the son of deceased Habibur Rahman of Brahmakandi village of Jashodal Union of Sadar Upazila. He used to work as a laborer to grind raw materials in the big market of the city.
According to the relatives, Rajan got married to Suraiya, the daughter of Abdul Baten of Fourteenth area of Sadar Upazila, three years ago. They have a six-month-old daughter. He told his relatives that he would go to a waj mahfil after finishing the prayers on Sunday night. His body was found on Monday morning.
Rajon’s mother Kalpana Begum said, ‘Rajan’s father Habibur Rahman was stabbed to death in suburban Manipurghat area four years ago. That case is still ongoing. The Rajans are three brothers. Among the three brothers, Rajan is the eldest. Someone is killing my son. The police will be requested to conduct a proper investigation and bring the culprits under the law. I want justice for those who killed my son.’
Kishoreganj Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Dawood said that no injury marks were found on Rajan’s body. His shirt was hanging naturally around his neck. The body has been sent to Shaheed Syed Nazrul Islam Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy. The cause of death will be known after the autopsy. Further legal action will be taken in this regard.
