Abdul Jabbar, Pabna
Bangladesh Jatiya Sangsad Deputy Speaker Md. Shamsul Haque Tuku MP said, if we want to develop Bangladesh as a developed country, it is very important to develop a hunger-free, poverty-free and efficient human resource. Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman thought about the welfare of mankind throughout his life. It is important for women to be economically self-reliant in building a welfare state. The current government is developing women as entrepreneurs to make them economically independent.

The deputy speaker said these things while addressing the chief guest at the Entrepreneurship Encouraging Workshop organized by the National Women’s Organization at Santhia in Pabna today (Monday) under the initiative of ‘Women Entrepreneurs Development Project in Economic Empowerment at the Grassroots Level’.

The Deputy Speaker said that half of the total population of the country is women. Desired development is not possible by keeping them out of economic activities. Women are now contributing to all sectors of the country based on merit. The current government under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has adopted a multifaceted plan to facilitate the path of entrepreneurship by utilizing their skills and talent.

Md. Shamsul Haque Tuku MP said, Bangabandhu did not differentiate between Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists and Christians. The country became independent with the collective participation of all in the liberation war, so he believed in equal rights for all. Awami League does politics to ensure that all people of the country can eat, regardless of religion, caste, food, treatment and shelter. This was the philosophy of Bangabandhu. He himself never did politics for luxury.

Chairman of National Women’s Organization Pabna Branch Shamima Yasmin Shireen chaired and moderated by Md Anisur Rahman, Santhia Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md Masud Hossain and Santhia Municipal Mayor Mahbubul Alam Bachchu along with local elected representatives, local Awami League leaders and workers, dignitaries and media workers were present in the event.

Before this he distributed vouchers and checks among the poor and needy people in Bara upazila area. On this occasion, the local elected representatives, local dignitaries and media workers were present along with Md. Morshedul Islam, Bara Upazila Executive Officer.
