Newlywed Ayesha Khatun died after being crushed by the wheels of a bus in Agarghata. Deceased Ayesha Khatun (17) is the wife of newly married crab trader Saddam Hussain of Pratapkati village of Kapilmuni UP. The motorcycle driver husband Saddam Hossain and his mother were injured.
The incident took place at Aggarghata market of Kapilmuni UP in the upazila around 11 am on Monday.
Eyewitnesses said that Satkhira J-04-0061 left Paikgacha at Agarghata Vedamara junction on the way from his father’s house on the sixth floor of Raduli UP to his father-in-law’s house (on a motorcycle).
Ayesha Khatun (17) fell when the Khulna-bound bus hit the motorcycle and the bus ran over her head. Ayesha Khatun died on the spot. When Ayesha Khatun was run over by the bus, a person present at the scene stopped the bus at a place called Badamtala by driving a motorcycle. When the crowd informed the police, the police reached the spot and recovered the body and took it to the police station.
Police Station OC Md. Rafiqul Islam said that the killer bus has been detained. The police visited the spot and sent the body to the Khulna Medical College Hospital morgue.
