The Election Commission (EC) is once again in dialogue with the registered political parties ahead of the National Assembly elections. It is said that this dialogue will continue in the election building on Saturday. However, BNP has decided not to participate in the dialogue.
According to EC sources, the dialogue is being organized in two parts. The first part will start at 10:30 am and the second part will start at 3 pm. 22 teams will participate in each division.
The Election Commission has requested two delegations from each party to participate in the dialogue.
Recently, the letter sent to the political parties from the Director (Public Relations) of the EC stated that a discussion meeting has been organized on November 4 on the overall issues including the progress of preparations for the 12th National Assembly elections. The discussion program will be held in the conference room of the election building.
Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Kazi Habibul Awal will preside over the meeting. Election commissioners will also be present in the meeting.
According to the letter, the commission has requested the honorable president and general secretary of your party or two suitable representatives nominated by you to participate in the meeting called by the election commission.
Earlier in July last year, a dialogue was held between the EC and the political parties. However, 9 parties including BNP decided not to participate in that dialogue. As a result, the dialogue becomes largely meaningless.
