52nd National Cooperative Day is today Saturday. The day is celebrated on the first Saturday of November every year to make people aware about cooperatives and to bring momentum to the cooperative movement. This year’s theme is ‘Cooperatively building the country, Bangladesh will be smart’.
On the occasion of the day, the National Cooperative Award-2022 will be presented at the conference center of the Directorate of Cooperatives at Agargaon in the capital at 3 pm. This time 10 cooperative societies in 10 categories have been nominated for National Cooperative Awards. The President and the Prime Minister gave separate messages on the occasion.
President Md. Sahabuddin said, Cooperative teaches unity, Cooperative brings prosperity. Cooperatives are very fruitful steps in achieving self-reliance and socio-economic development through united efforts through economic activities in a democratic manner.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina expressed the hope that the country’s cooperative organizations will play a leading role in fulfilling the government’s goals. The Awami League government has accepted the challenge of building a smart Bangladesh by 2041. We have identified four pillars to implement Smart Bangladesh – Smart Citizens, Smart Society, Smart Economy and Smart Government. It is possible to develop smart citizens and smart society as well as smart economy by developing human resources through cooperatives.
