A section of Metrorail (from Uttara to Agargaon) was inaugurated about 10 months ago. That’s why the citizens of the capital were deprived of its full benefits for a long time. But this time the regret is coming. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the second section of the Metrorail (from Agargaon to Motijheel) on Saturday. After this, ordinary passengers can travel on this route from Sunday. As a result, the country’s first metro rail is going to be practically completed.

Regarding the inauguration, Managing Director of Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) MAN Siddique said, after its inauguration, we have four stations left. Which can be fully launched within the next four months.

It is known that initially the metro train will stop at Secretariat and Farmgate stations on Motijheel route from Agargaon. Dhaka University, Shahbagh, Caravanbazar and Vijaysarani stations will be opened in a phased manner.

Meanwhile, common people are excited about the news of the metro on the Uttara-Motijheel route. They said that the suffering of going to the office after being stuck in traffic for a long time will be reduced. The authorities said that every day except Friday from 7:30 am to 11:30 pm Metro trains will run every 10 minutes on this route.

Note that the Uttara to Agargaon section of the Metrorail was inaugurated on December 28, 2022. It is open to the public from the next day. Initially the train stopped only at Diabari and Agargaon stations. Later, gradually the number of stations increases, the time also increases. From then on, the wait was till Motijheel. It ends on Saturday.
