A memorandum of understanding has been signed between Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) and Makkah Chamber of Commerce.

The agreement was signed on Wednesday (November 1) at the Makkah Chamber’s office during the bilateral trade talks and Bitoo session. DCCI President Barrister Md. Sameer Sattar and Acting Secretary General of Makkah Chamber of Commerce Eng. Ishmat Matog signed the MoU on behalf of his organization.

DCCI President Barrister Md. Members of the largest private sector delegation of 61 members led by Sameer Sattar attended the said trade talks and B2B sessions.

Welcoming the DCCI delegation, Makkah Chamber Board Member Abdullah Ghadi said, “Our bilateral trade relations have improved a lot in recent times, which can be considered as an exemplary field in the field of international trade. We have to play a more responsible role in order to expand it further.” There is quite a possibility.

He said that the Saudi government has undertaken several projects to expand, modernize and reform infrastructure facilities in Makkah, where Bangladeshi entrepreneurs can come forward to invest following the policies of their country’s government.

Dhaka Chamber President Barrister Md. Samir Sattar said that among the countries in the South Asian region, Bangladesh is providing the most attractive economic and policy support investment facilities for investors, taking advantage of which entrepreneurs from Saudi Arabia can come forward for single and joint investment.

The DCCI president said that the coordination between Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia needs to be strengthened to implement the future vision of the economy of the two countries. In addition to considering Bangladesh’s strategic geographical location, he called for more investment in Bangladesh’s special economic zones by taking the opportunity to produce and export products at competitive prices.

DCCI Senior Vice President SM Ghulam Farooq Alamgir (Arman), Vice President Md. Junaid Ibn Ali, Board of Directors and delegation members were present on the occasion.
