Agargaon-Motijheel section is opening today

The much awaited first Metrorail of the country is getting completed. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the Agargaon-Motijheel section from Agargaon station at 2.30 pm today. He will then travel to Motijheel by metro rail for another inauguration ceremony at Motijheel station. Through this, the movement of metro rail with passengers from Uttara to Motijheel will start. Earlier, Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the metro rail from Uttara to Agargaon on December 28 last year. Meanwhile, the Prime Minister will attend a public meeting organized by Awami League at Arambagh after the inauguration of the metro rail.

This line will be 20 km from Hemayetpur via Bhatara to Gabtali, Mirpur-10, Gulshan. The project of Tk 41 thousand 239 crore will be completed in 2028. He said that regular metro service from Uttara to Agargaon will be stopped on Saturday due to the inauguration ceremony. Meanwhile, Awami League wants to bring down the flow of people from Agargaon to Motijheel on the occasion of the inauguration of the second phase of the metro rail service. In the meantime, the capital has been covered with banners and festoons of Awami League workers-supporters around the inaugural event. A huge stage has already been constructed at Arambagh near Motijheel around the opening ceremony of Metrorail and the public meeting organized by Awami League. In the meantime, Awami League has made extensive preparations by holding special extended meetings in North-South Awami League and Thana-wards of Dhaka metropolis to make the rally a success. Awami League leaders announced the gathering of 1 million people in this public meeting. They say that the organizational strength of the party will be demonstrated through this showdown.
