Durgapur NIT: Some posters against Durgapur NIT director create controversy

A bunch of complaints have surfaced against the director of Durgapur NIT. Go-back posters accusing him were put up in the NIT premises and sub-divisional court buildings. The poster mentions several issues from non-teaching post recruitment, reduction of student stipend to misbehavior with professors. Director Arvind Chaubey denied the allegations and said that he is trying to improve Durgapur NIIT.

What complaints?

The poster alleged that professors of the institution were being mistreated. There are 100 plus non-teaching vacancies that have not yet been filled for 15 years. The latest non-teaching recruitment has been canceled due to administrative reasons but no action has been taken so far for further recruitment. The poster claims that the post of permanent registrar is vacant from May 2023. Third party salaried employees have working days. It has reduced after new director came. It is also claimed that the stipend of PhD students has been reduced after the arrival of the new director. Students are also worried about this issue.

Arvind Choubey, director of NIT in Durgapur, said, I don’t know who is saying what against me. They are saying this from negative thinking.
