Dhaka: A young man named Sourav Mallick (18) in Dhaka University came to Jagannath Hall near his elder brother Gautam Mallick and fell unconscious.

On Friday (November 3) around 9:30 pm, the young man was taken unconscious to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DHMC) where the doctor declared him dead.

The cause of his sudden death is yet to be ascertained.

Sourav’s house, who died near his brother, is in Dighalkandi village of Kulaura upazila of Moulvibazar district. His father’s name is Gaurang Mallik. He passed HSC from a college in the village.

Sourav’s elder brother Gautam Mallick said that he is a third year student of Applied Chemistry and Chemical Engineering at DU. Lives in room number 432 on the fifth floor of Jagannath Hall.

He said that Sourav was preparing to go to America for higher education. His visa is also done. And the flight is due any day this month. Chhotabhai came to my hall in DU last October 26 to give an oral exam. At around 8:30 tonight, he turned his head in the hall and became unconscious. Later he was rushed to the hospital where he died.

Dhaka Medical College Hospital Police Camp Incharge (Inspector) Md. Bachchu Mia confirmed the death and said that the body has been kept in the hospital morgue.
