Police have rescued a kidnapped child from Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Medical College Hospital in Gazipur. Meanwhile, two persons including the kidnapper and the woman waiting for the purchase were arrested. The kidnapped child’s name is Labib. He is one year old. He is the son of Sujan Mia of Majhirkhola area under Sadar Thana of Gazipur Hanagari.
OC Ziaul Islam of Sadar Metro Police Station of Gazipur Metropolitan confirmed the matter around 11:30 on Friday.
Earlier on Thursday night, the police conducted operations in Pubail police station area of the city and Bhora (chowkidar’s house) area under Sadar police station and rescued the child Labib.
Mosa, wife of Sultan Mia of Baushi Dashadar village of Barhatta police station of Netrokona district, was arrested. Sultana Khatun (26) and Mosa, daughter of Ansar Mir of Manpura Thana Hajirhat village of Bhola district. Farzana Akhter (19).
Kidnapped child’s mother Hamida Akhter said, I live in a rented house in Harinal Mazhirkhola area under Sadar police station with my elder son Habib (7) and younger son Labib (1). Meanwhile, one and a half months ago, his elder son got pain in his knee and was admitted to the surgery ward of Sadar Hospital with his son. At one stage of his admission, the unidentified woman wearing a burqa slyly joined him while he was taking care of his elder son on the afternoon of November 1. At one point he knocked him unconscious and kidnapped his younger son Labib and ran away. If he is unconscious for a long time, he tries to regain consciousness when the people around him suspect. Later, after regaining consciousness, the little boy started crying. At one point we complained to the police station.
Sadar Police Station OC Ziaul Islam said that after learning about the incident of child abduction, several teams of Sadar Police Station began to rescue the child in various ways. Following that we conducted a shadow operation and rescued the child unharmed. In this regard, a case has been filed against the abductors under the Prevention of Torture against Women and Children Act at the Sadar police station. When the arrested were sent to the Gazipur court on Friday, the court ordered them to be sent to jail.
