From Adamdighi (Bogra): Police recovered the body of a housewife named Meher Nigar Sohagi (20) from Adamdighi in Bogra. The mystery is made of the death of the housewife. People of the deceased’s father-in-law’s house spread the poison and he died. But meanwhile, when the housewife died on the way to the hospital, the husband and her relatives fled leaving her body in the in-laws’ house. In this incident, the housewife’s father filed a murder case with the police station. The incident took place in Kalaikuri village of Adamdighi upazila last Thursday (November 2) evening.
According to local sources, Nadeem Pramanik, son of Hossain Ali of Kalaikuri village of the upazila, was married to Meher Nigar Sohagi, daughter of Khokon of Shibpur village of Sadar Union, about three years ago. After marriage, Sohgi was tortured mentally and physically by her husband and in-laws on various pretexts.
This morning due to a family dispute, housewife Meher Nigar Sohagi was again mentally and physically tortured by her nonad Hosne Ara. As a result, Meher Nigar’s sister-in-law fell ill. In the afternoon, her husband and in-laws spread the word that the housewife had taken poison, and she died on the way to Adamdighi Hospital and then to Bogra Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital. Then the husband and his relatives left her body at the in-laws house in Kalaikudi village and escaped. When the matter came to light in the evening, the villagers came and reported to the Meher Nigar Sohgir Pitralaya and the police.
Najma Bibi, the mother of the deceased Meher Nigar Sohagi, said that her daughter was physically tortured and killed by the people of her father and father-in-law’s house.
In this regard, the officer in charge of Adamdighi police station Rezaul Karim Reza confirmed the fact that none of the deceased’s family including the husband of the deceased was found. However, the actual cause of death cannot be said until the post-mortem report is received.
