The police recovered the body of an unidentified person from an engine-powered boat floating in the canal of Munshiganj’s Sirajdikhan Upazila. The body was recovered from Dohuri Canal in Gudaraghat area of Fegunasa in Malkhanagar Union of Upazila on Friday (November 3) around 8 am. Meanwhile, a seriously injured young man was rescued from the boat and sent to Dhaka.
The name of the injured youth is Humayun. He is the son of Tajul Ali of Shamur Bari area of Gaudia Union of Lauhjong Upazila.
Humayun’s mother Maryam said that Humayun was the only child of his previous house. Humayun is a mason’s assistant by profession.
The police and the locals said that this morning, the locals informed the police after seeing the body of a person in an engine-powered boat floating in the Dohuri canal of Gudaraghat area of Fegunasa. Later the police came and recovered the body. The deceased has a deep injury near his knee. Besides, a young man named Humayun was rescued from that boat in an injured condition and taken to Sirajdikhan Upazila Health Complex.
Humayun’s mother Maryam said that her son was taken to Dhaka’s Midford Hospital for better treatment as his condition was critical.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sirajdikhan Police Station Mujahidul Islam said that after receiving information from the locals, the police were sent and the body was recovered and brought to the police station. Legal action is pending. The injured has been sent to Dhaka for treatment.
