There have been reports of the death of a sick mother due to her daughter’s beating and beating in Badda of the capital. The incident took place in Madhya Badda Biparipara area. Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Badda police station confirmed the matter to Dhaka Times. Abdul Qayyum.
OC Abdul Qayyum told Dhaka Times that deceased Maqsuda Begum lived with her daughter Smriti Begum (27). Maqsuda Begum fell ill for several days. Daughter Smriti Begum used to take care of her mother. Mother and daughter used to haggle on the sidewalk.
OC said, initially the police came to know that the girl pushed Maksuda in anger while cleaning in the bathroom at night. He later succumbed to his injuries.
Smriti Begum was brought to the police station for questioning based on a complaint filed by Maqsuda Begum’s son. The body of the deceased was sent to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue on Friday morning after the legal process. He also said that the matter is under investigation.
Smriti Begum is the daughter of Ramzan Sheikh and Maqsuda Begum of Patabhog village in Srinagar upazila of Munshiganj. Maqsuda Begum had two marriages. Although she was the mother of four sons and two daughters in the family of two husbands, she lived with Smriti, the youngest daughter, abandoned by her husband. Other brothers and sisters live in different places.
Complainant at Badda police station. Ali Hossain told Dhaka Times that it was my younger sister Smriti who beat my mother to death. Shahjalal Islami Bank of Gulshan branch had about Tk 20 lakhs. From that money, my sister used to take my mother by force and spend it. My sister Smriti killed my mother at night for this money. Ali Hossain also said that many others are involved in this.
