Dhaka: The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested Mohammad Ziauddin Rufi, accused in the death of popular small screen actress Humaira Himu.
He was arrested from Dhaka on Friday (November 3).
RAB Legal and Media Wing Director Commander Khandaker Al Moin confirmed this information.
He said that the accused Mohammad Ziauddin Rufi has been arrested in connection with the death of actress Humaira Himu. Details will be given in this regard in the afternoon.
On Thursday (November 2) afternoon, Humaira Himu was taken to Bangladesh Medical Hospital in Uttara by her boyfriend Rufi and foster brother Mishir. After being taken to the hospital, the doctors on duty declared him dead. Hearing the news of Himu’s death, her boyfriend Rufi ran away with her mobile phone.
The mystery surrounding Himu’s death is not over. Some say suicide, some say murder.
Himu’s foster brother Mishir told the police that the actress committed suicide by hanging herself with a thick plastic rope and a ceiling fan hook.
Uttara West Police Station (Inspector Operations) Partha Pratim said that the matters are being investigated. After the legal process, the body has been sent to Shaheed Suhrawardy Hospital morgue for post-mortem. However, scars were seen on the actress’s neck. Legal action will be taken in this regard.
