The court remanded BNP Standing Committee member Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury and media cell convener Zahir Uddin Swapan for six days. The police produced them in the court in the constable murder case on Friday. Then DB inspector Tarikul applied for a 10-day remand for proper investigation of the case. On the other hand, their lawyers Syed Zainul Abedin Mejbah and Sheikh Shakeel Ahmed Ripon applied for bail. After the hearing of both parties, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Zaki Al Farabi rejected the bail application and granted remand for six days. Earlier on Thursday (November 2), Dhaka Metropolitan Detective (DB) police arrested Amir Khosru from his house in Gulshan at around 1:15 am. Zahir Uddin Swapan was arrested from Gulshan in the afternoon of the same day. On October 28, BNP had a general meeting at Nayapaltan in the capital. The party’s leaders and workers flocked to Nayapaltan and its surrounding areas from the morning around the mass rally. In the afternoon, the BNP leaders and activists clashed with the police, and at one point the mass meeting broke up. A policeman on duty, Amirul, fell on the road after being hit on the head in Box Culvert Road area of ​​Fakirapool during the clash. Later he was rescued and taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where the doctor declared him dead. Amirul’s house is in Daulatpur Upazila of Manikganj. Police sub-inspector Masuk Mia filed a murder case in the capital’s Paltan Model Police Station on October 29. BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir was made the main accused in this. Apart from this, 164 people including top leaders of BNP were accused in the same case.
