The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DB) will ask BNP Standing Committee member Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury to find out who was responsible for the beating of a policeman on the day of the BNP’s program. He has already been arrested in the police murder case.
This information was given by DMP Additional Police Commissioner and DB Chief Mohammad Haroon Or Rashid. On Friday afternoon in front of the DB office at Minturod in the capital, he said that on October 28, a police constable named Amirul Islam died in a clash with BNP leaders and activists at Dainik Bangar intersection in the capital. The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DB) wants to remand BNP Standing Committee member Amir Khosru, who was arrested last night, to find out who was responsible for the murder of Constable Amirul.
Claiming that Amir Khosru was absconding, the DB chief said: We have been looking for BNP Standing Committee member Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury for a long time. He was absconding in a house, from where we arrested him last night. Aamir Khosru is accused number 4 in the police murder case. He was arrested in this case.
The DB chief also said, you know my police brother was brutally beaten to death in broad daylight. Apart from this, many other police brothers of mine are seriously injured and undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College and Rajarbagh Central Police Hospital. One of them went into a coma. When you go to the hospital, you can see the cries and cries of the families and children of these policemen.
He also said that all the accused in this case should be handed over to the law. Those who escaped were not saved. Those who are on the run, I still think we will catch them and hand them over to the court.
Meanwhile, the police applied to get Amir Khosru and BNP’s media cell convener Zahiruddin Swapan on 10-day remand. These two leaders were arrested on Thursday.
