‘Hu’ condemns the aid distribution crisis in Gaza

Geneva, November 3, 2023 (Bass Desk): The World Health Organization on Thursday strongly criticized the lack of security in the delivery of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip. The agency said it has become almost impossible to get medical supplies to hospitals there.
The organization also said that the demand for health services in the Palestinian enclave is increasing, but the capacity to deal with it is decreasing.
According to the UN agency, it has been possible to send 54 metric tons of humanitarian aid to the region in the last 15 days. But this aid is woefully inadequate compared to what is needed. News from AFP.
“We will do everything we can to ensure that all people in Gaza have access to life-saving health and humanitarian services,” the agency’s head, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, told a news conference.
It is impossible to provide relief in the existing situation!
Michael Ryan, the agency’s emergency director, described it as “unconscionable” that the basic protection of workers on the ground in Gaza at the moment was “unconscionable,” saying the agency did not prioritize the basic rule of minimum protection for humanitarian aid deliveries.
Ryan said it was the responsibility of all parties to allow repeated aid deliveries to these conflict-affected hospitals.
Ensuring such facilities is not only a matter of protection but also a special duty of the authorities to ensure adequate services and supplies according to the needs of the population.
Tedros said the horrors in Gaza are indescribable. Describing the situation in the region as indescribable, he said hospitals are overflowing with the injured, corridors and morgues are overflowing. Doctors are forced to perform surgery without anesthesia. Everywhere, panic, death, destruction and damage prevail.
“As health demands increase, our capacity to meet those demands is diminishing,” he said. He also said that now there is no chance to help the dead. However, we can help the living.
Israel uses al-Shifa, the largest hospital in Gaza, as a ‘command center’ and headquarters for Hamas.
We don’t know exactly what is going to happen on the continent. We don’t have any information about what might happen under such a tunnel somewhere.
Tedros reiterated his call for Hamas to release the hostages, saying there could be no justification for Hamas’s horrific attacks on Israel. He urged everyone to reduce the conflict instead of escalating it.
