Kumar Mangalam Birla is a fourth generation member of the Birla family. He was born in Kolkata and brought up in Mumbai.
He graduated from Sydenham College of Commerce and Economics, Mumbai. Kumar Mangalam then completed his graduation from Mumbai University’s HR College of Commerce and Economics for his higher education.
He then moved to distant London to pursue his MBA and studied CA as per his father’s advice. But a surprising thing is that at the age of only 22, he got married to businessman Shambhu Kasliwal’s daughter Neerja. who have three children namely Aryaman Vikram, Ananya and Advaitasha.
Besides, his wife is currently the vice chairperson of Birla Trust. After the death of Aditya Birla, Kumar Mangalam took charge of the Birla Group in 1995 at the age of 28.
