The two accused are Mosharaf (23) and Imran (25), son of Suruj Mia of Sahebnagar in the upazila. According to the source of complaint, Suruj Mia’s two sons Musharraf and

Imran is addicted to drugs and does not do any work. Unable to raise money for drugs, he sold the house furniture including trees. As he protested, the old man tried to strangle his father.

Later, he was beaten and injured by kicking him on the ground. On hearing the news, Suruj Mia’s daughters rescued her and brought her home after receiving first aid from a local doctor.

In this incident, Suruj Mia filed a complaint with the police station against the two boys for beating and injuring them with attempted murder that night.

In this regard, Suruj Mia’s daughter Najma said, ‘My mother died five years ago. Since our sisters got married, father lives with two brothers. They often beat the old father for the greed of property. We sisters also cannot come to father’s house. After receiving the news, I rescued the injured father.’

Suruj Mia said, “Mosharraf and Imran, unable to raise money for drug addiction, sold house furniture including trees on Tuesday. They tried to kill me and beat me up for protesting. They beat like this to take money and property. I filed a complaint against the two boys at the police station to demand their justice along with the safety of their lives.’

When accused Imran was asked about this, he did not want to say anything.

Confirming the receipt of the complaint, Deputy Inspector Farid Mia said, subject to investigation, necessary legal action will be taken.
