Habiganj Representative:

A mentally and speech impaired girl named Hena Akter (15) died after drowning in Ajmiriganj of Habiganj. The incident took place at Shantipur village of Ward No. 1 of Shibpasha Union of the upazila at 10:30 am on Wednesday. Deceased Hena Akhtar is the daughter of Mia, the officer of that village.

Locals said that Hena Akta was mentally and speech impaired since birth. Family members started searching for Hena after Tuesday evening. Despite searching all possible places throughout the night, he was not found. Locals informed the police after seeing Hena’s body floating in a pond behind the house in the morning. On receiving the information, the police reached the spot and recovered Hena’s body.

Confirming the matter, Inspector Alamgir Kabir of Shivpasha Police Outpost said, “We recovered the body after receiving the information.” The body was handed over to the family as per law as there was no complaint from the family.
