Bangladesh is trapped in the circle of defeat in the ongoing ODI World Cup in India. After the victory against Afghanistan, the Tigers have tasted six consecutive defeats. And that’s why Bangladesh was knocked out of the World Cup first in the competition. The remaining two matches of the tournament turned out to be just a matter of regulation for Team Tigers. However, after being excluded from the group stage, Bangladesh is getting a large amount of prize money from the tournament.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced a prize money of one million USD for the 2023 ODI World Cup. Team Tigers whose dreams of semi-finals ended are getting more than one and a half million rupees in Bangladeshi currency. If they beat Sri Lanka and Australia in the remaining two matches of the group stage, the amount of prize money will increase for Bangladesh.

The champion team of the World Cup will get 4 million US dollars (which is about 44 crores in Bangladeshi currency) as prize money. The runner-up team will pocket 2 million US dollars (which is about 22 crores in Bangladeshi currency). The two teams eliminated from the semi-finals will receive 8 lakh US dollars (Bangladeshi currency which is 8 crore 78 lakh taka).

The rest of the teams do not have to return empty-handed from the ICC mega event. The teams that fail to reach the first round or group stage are also getting a large amount of prize money. That is, each of the six teams eliminated from the first round will receive 1 lakh US dollars. In Bangladeshi currency, the amount is 1 crore 10 lakh taka. Apart from this, there is separate prize money for each match of the group stage. Each team that wins the 45 matches of the round robin league is getting 43 lakh 89 thousand taka.

Bangladesh still have two matches left in the World Cup. The Tigers will play against Sri Lanka on November 6 and Australia on November 11. So far Le Bangladesh is getting a little more than one and a half million taka. But if you win the last two matches, the amount of prize money will increase.
