The group that controls the Gaza Strip, Hamas, has announced that it will make the Gaza Strip the ‘graveyard’ of Israel’s political and military leadership. Along with that, some foreign hostages will be released in the coming days, the Al Qassem Brigade, the military wing of this group, also said.
“We have already informed our mediators that we will release several foreigners (hostages) in the next few days,” Al Qassem Brigade spokesman Abu Obeida said in a televised speech on Tuesday.
“We have also stated that we will not stop until we make this Gaza a graveyard for Israel’s military and political leadership.”
Abu Obeida made this announcement at a time when Al Qassem Brigades fighters are clashing with Israeli forces in the northern Gaza Strip. On the same day, the Al Jabalia refugee camp in the valley was almost destroyed by Israeli air force bombing.
Middle East political analysts said that the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas, which controls the Gaza Strip in the Al Aqsa region of the Middle East, is the biggest war in the region since 1953. The war started with a surprise attack by Hamas on October 7.
Early that morning, hundreds of trained Hamas fighters crossed into Israel through the Erez border crossing in northern Gaza and indiscriminately shot and killed hundreds of Israeli civilians and other nationals, taking 234 hostages into Gaza. 138 of these hostages are citizens of different countries. Hamas has also released 5 hostages in the last few days.
Meanwhile, after the Hamas attack, the Israeli Air Force launched an operation in Gaza on October 7, which is still ongoing. According to the Gaza Ministry of Health, 8 thousand 525 people have been killed and at least 21 thousand 543 have been injured in Gaza so far due to the bombing of the Israeli forces in the valley. Most of the Palestinian casualties are women and children and civilians.
