Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal said that currently the per capita debt in the country is 364.85 US dollars. Haji Md., member of parliament of the government party in the national parliament today Tuesday. The finance minister gave this information in response to Selim’s question.

The finance minister said that the amount of foreign debt as of June 2023 is 62 thousand 312.71 million US dollars. Out of which 36 thousand 781.03 million US dollars are multilateral and 25 thousand 531.68 million US dollars are bilateral.

In response to a question from Benazir Ahmed, a member of parliament of the government party, the finance minister said that the per capita national income in Bangladesh in the fiscal year 2022-2023 has reached 2 thousand 765 US dollars. Per capita national income in 2005-06 and 2007-08 was US$ 543 and US$ 868 respectively. Per capita national income has already increased more than five times compared to the fiscal year 2005-2006.

In response to Jatiya Party Member of Parliament Masiur Rahman’s question, the Finance Minister said that in five years (2019-2023), the customs authority of the airport has recovered 1,408 kg of gold. The estimated value of which is 1 thousand 226 crores.

In response to the question of Awami League Member of Parliament Kazim Uddin Ahmed, the Finance Minister said that according to International Monetary Fund (IMF) standards, the country’s current gross reserves amount to 21 thousand 116.59 million dollars as of October 12 of this month.
