In the south of the capital, a woman named Afroza Begum (40), a Canadian expatriate, has been accused of being covered with sand after her murder. On Wednesday (May 31) at 8:30 p.m., the police went to the spot after receiving information. Police recovered the body around 11 pm.
Afroza Begum has lived in Canada for five years. He is from Nijbhogdaburi village of Domar upazila of Nilphamari district. Daughter of Ataullah Mandal. He has one son and one daughter.
Afroza Begum’s brother Ariful Islam claims that after divorcing her first husband, Afroza married expatriate Ashraful Alam. They came to Bangladesh from Canada before fasting. But, suddenly my sister was not available since last Friday. After searching in different places, I was reported missing on May 28 at Dakshinkhan police station. Later today (Wednesday) I found the dead body of the sister buried in the ground in the empty space next to Ashraful’s house.
Ashraful is the son of Shamchuddin Sarkar of Naddapara Dakshinpara of Dakshinkhan in the capital. It is believed that he killed his wife and fled to Canada.
Confirming the matter, the officer-in-charge (OC) of Dakshinkhan police station Mohammad Jahangir Hossain Khan said that the body will be sent to the morgue for autopsy.
