A brother and sister were killed in a head-on collision between a passenger bus and a CNG-powered autorickshaw in Daudkandi, Comilla. A total of 5 people including three members of the same family were seriously injured in the accident.
The accident took place at Sheikhbari area of Gauripur-Matlab road of Daudkandi upazila at approximately 12 noon on Friday.
Locals rescued the injured and took them to the emergency department of Daudkandi (Gouripur) Upazila Health Complex, where the doctor on duty declared 2 dead.
The deceased are Al-Amin (35), son of Siraj Mia of Kawadi village of Daudkandi upazila, and Chaleha Begum (45), wife of his elder sister Anu Mia, deceased of Bhabanipur village.
The two deceased are brothers and sisters.
Injured Nazmul (25), his wife Rina Akhtar (22), daughter Nusrat (3) and another passenger Roksana (30) and driver Shanto (20) were sent to Dhaka in critical condition after first aid. All the injured were passengers of the CNG autorickshaw.
According to Daudkandi Model Police Station, a Dhaka-bound Jainpur Paribahan passenger bus (Dhaka-J-14-0334) collided head-on with a CNG autorickshaw (Comilla-Th-11-8657). In the accident, the passengers of the CNG autorickshaw were killed and a total of 5 people including 3 members of the same family were seriously injured. The injured have been sent to Dhaka for better care. The bus and the CNG autorickshaw involved in the accident are in police custody.
