Narail: The body of a schoolboy named Rajiv Bhuiyan (14) was found in Lohagarh Madhumati river two days after he went missing. His body was recovered from the banks of Madhumati river in Char-Ajampur area of Tagarband union of Alfadanga upazila on Friday (May 26).
Rajiv Bhuiyan went missing after drowning in the middle of the river while swimming from the ghat of Madhumati river in old Dhanair village of Lohagara upazila on Wednesday afternoon. He was the son of Julhas Bhuiya of Old Dhanair village of Lohagara upazila and a ninth grade student of Morich Pasha Secondary School.

Locals said that Madhumati drowned in the middle of the river while swimming across the river on Wednesday afternoon. The relatives did not find him after much searching. Later, a diving team came from Khulna and started rescue work. After two days of operation, the divers of the fire service could not recover the body and left after completing the operation on Thursday afternoon.
Later on Friday at around 5 o’clock in the morning, local people found the body on the banks of Madhumati river in Char-Ajampur area of Tagarband union of Alfadanga upazila. Saiful told Islam. When the chairman informed the relatives, the relatives recovered the body and took it home.
