Areas likely to experience thunderstorms today

According to the Meteorological Department, storms with rain may pass over 19 regions of the country.

It said that by 6 pm on Friday evening over Rajshahi, Pabna, Rangpur, Dinajpur, Bogra, Tangail, Mymensingh, Jessore, Kushtia, Dhaka, Faridpur, Khulna, Barisal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Comilla, Chittagong, Cox’s Bazar and Sylhet regions. Showers with gusty or gusty winds of 45 to 60 km/h from north-west or thundershowers.

River ports in these areas have been asked to display warning signal number 1. Apart from this, the forecast for the next 24 hours from 9 am on Friday said that the extension of western low pressure has extended to West Bengal and adjoining North Bay of Bengal.

In this situation, many places of Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barisal, Chittagong and Sylhet divisions may experience rain with gusty wind or rain with thunder. Also, there may be scattered hailstorms in some parts of the country.

During the next 72 hours, chances of rain or thundershowers may reduce and temperature may increase.
