Gujarat Titans (GT) and Mumbai Indians (MI) will meet at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Friday (May 26) in Qualifier 2 of the Indian Premier League 2023. GT reached the playoffs at the top of the points table after winning ten matches, but lost in the first qualifier. Mumbai are coming into this match having won the eliminator after qualifying for the playoffs as fourth with 16 points. In the previous match, GT faced Chennai Super Kings. An 87-run opening partnership between Ruturaj Gaikwad and Devon Conway saw CSK post 172 for seven in 20 overs. Shubman Gill was the team’s top scorer with 42 runs from 38 balls for GT, but in the end GT were all out for just 157 runs in 20 overs.

MI faced Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in their previous match. Mumbai captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and decided to bat in that match. MI reached a total of 182/8 after losing eight wickets in 20 overs after effective contributions from the middle order. LSG were all out for 101 in just 16.3 overs, with the middle order collapsing at 69/2. Akash Madhwal was the biggest contributor in Mumbai’s 81-run win. The pacer won the Man of the Match award with five wickets for five runs in 3.3 overs. So far GT and MI have met three times in IPL. They have met twice this season. In their most recent match, GT lost by 27 runs.
