On March 10, Bangladeshi worker Tafazzal Hossain (42) died of a sudden stroke while working in the city of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Two and a half months have passed since the incident, but the body has not yet arrived in the country. As a result, the helpless relatives are spending their days in mourning and despair while waiting for the body.
Deceased Tafazzal Hossain is the son of late Ashraf Ali of Bholar Algi village of Bhangnamari union of Gouripur upazila of Mymensingh.
Tafazzal Hossain’s wife Sharifa Khatun said that my husband died in Saudi Arabia on March 10. Currently, his body is in Sarfia Barshan Hospital of that country. Since the body did not come back to the country after this incident, on April 11, I made a written request to the Director General of Expatriate Wage Earns Welfare Board demanding to take necessary measures in this regard.
But until now I don’t know if my husband’s body will come to the country or not? Or when will it come? In this situation, almost every day my two children (son) want to know when their father’s body will arrive. I cannot answer them then. I request the government to take measures to bring my husband’s body back to the country.
Meanwhile, Tafazzal Hossain’s mother Umme Kulsoom is losing consciousness almost crying while waiting for her dead son’s body.
In this regard, Mymensingh’s manpower survey officer S.M. Jahangir Sohail said that the request to bring the body back to the country has been sent to the authorities in due process. But till now we don’t have any latest information on this matter.
