A youth named Palash Chandra was stabbed to death on the side of the highway in Savar, Dhaka. The incident took place on the west side of the footover bridge in the C&B area on the Dhaka-Aricha highway around 9 pm on Thursday.
25-year-old Palash Chandra is the son of Makhan Lal of Betmore village of Mathbaria police station in Pirojpur district. He used to work in EP Group factory in Khejurbagan area of Ashulia.
According to the police, when the factory was closed, Palash Chandra came to C&B to go home in Jalalabad area of Nabinagar. After that, the miscreants suddenly stabbed him in the chest, stomach, face and left hand after climbing the C&B footover bridge and descending the stairs on the west side. Later, people from the side of the road sent him to Enam Medical College Hospital in Savar, where doctors declared him brought dead.
Sub-Inspector (SI) of Savar Model Police Station Haroon ur Rashid said, ‘We learned from the locals that he was stabbed after getting down from the bridge. The dead body has been recovered. Talking to his family about it.’
As the cause of death, he said, ‘It is difficult to say now whether the incident was robbery or planned. Because when robbed, his mobile money bag was taken, but they did not take anything. The matter can be confirmed by investigating.’
Before this, AC (Land) Abu Bakkar Siddiqui of Kalapara Upazila of Patuakhali was caught by robbers in the C&B area of Dhaka-Aricha highway in Savar late at night on November 14 last year. At that time, the robbers stole his mobile phone and wallet. Later the locals admitted him to Enam Medical College Hospital in Savar.
