The Thana police recovered the body of a man named Sultan Mahmud (50) from his house with his hands, feet and face tied at Ghatail in Tangail.
The body was recovered from Gala village of Jamuria union of Ghatail upazila late on Friday night. The deceased is the son of deceased Musa Sarkar of that area.
The deceased’s elder brother KM Nashir Uddin said that Sultan lived alone at home. We contacted Sultan 4 to 5 days before this incident. People of the area saw him last Tuesday as well. But yesterday I contacted Sultan’s mobile phone repeatedly but I did not get any news from him. After contacting many of the local residents, we did not get any news about Sultan and one of our nieces works in the police and contacted him. Later, when he contacted the Ghatail police station, the police came and recovered Sultan’s body from inside the house with his hands, feet and face tied with a towel. It looks like he was killed a few days ago. The corpse’s body began to melt.
Ghatail Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Lokman Hossain said that the body was recovered from Gala village around 2.30 am and sent to Tangail General Hospital for autopsy. The victims have not filed any complaint yet. We have started an investigation. After the investigation, we can reveal the mystery of this incident.
