Detectives have kept five people under surveillance on suspicion of murder of architect Imtiaz Mohammad Bhuiyan. They are investigating this sensational incident keeping in mind three possible reasons for the murder. However, the investigators have already confirmed the reason for killing Imtiaz in Dhaka and dumping the body in Munshiganj.
Regarding three possible reasons for Imtiaz’s murder, those concerned say that Imtiaz had a conflict with someone over apps-based business matters. Or maybe he was mistakenly involved with a professional criminal gang. Or he was killed after failing to commit any wrongdoing. Someone close to the deceased gave his consent from behind.
The murdered Imtiaz is the son of Mohammad Hossain Bhuiya, domiciled in Tejgaon, Dhaka. He is survived by his wife, one son and two daughters. He went missing after leaving home on March 7. On March 8, wife Fahmida Akhtar made a general diary (GD) at Kalabagan police station.

He said, ‘Some organizations are working on this incident. But we have some progress. You will be informed if there is any further progress.’
It is known that the killers were acquaintances of the deceased. He already had a relationship with them. But he didn’t know that there could be danger in meeting them. He may even be killed.
Fauzia, Imtiaz’s younger sister, said, “We have not received the news of my brother’s body. March 7 was Bhaiya’s wedding anniversary. He was supposed to go to a restaurant with his children that evening. That is why he left home at noon to print a design that day. He has not been found since then.’ Fahmida Akhter, the wife of the deceased, broke down in tears while talking to Bangladesh Daily. He demanded exemplary punishment for the murderers. Only then will Imtiaz’s soul rest in peace.
According to the police and family sources, on the evening of March 8, the police recovered the body of an unidentified person from Moricher Setu area of Sirajdikhan Upazila of Munshiganj. After the body was recovered from there, the search for his family started. After the legal process, his body was handed over to Anjuman Mufidul Islam. The next day on March 9, Imtiaz’s body was buried in the Munshiganj Municipal Cemetery as an heir. Then the family came to know that the body was that of architect Imtiaz Mohammad Bhuiyar (47), who had gone missing from Dhaka.
