Nafis Iqbal Khan is no longer the manager of the Bangladesh national cricket team. In his place, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) media manager Rabid Imam will serve as the manager of the national team until the T20 World Cup.

Originally, Nafis was in charge as the manager of Bangladesh Tigers. However, after the 2021 T20 World Cup, Sabbir Khan, the logistics manager of the national team, resigned as an acting manager.

Since then, he was serving as the manager of the national team. However, after taking charge, the cricketers started complaining against him from the Zimbabwe series. There are rumours, BCB director and team director Khaled Mahmud Sujan also received a complaint against Nafis for misbehavior with the cricketers.

However, it has been said from BCB that Nafis has not been dropped due to anyone’s complaint. The change was made as the Cricket Operations Committee did not feel the need to take him to the World Cup.

A BCB selector confirmed the matter and told Sportsmail24.com, “Nafees Iqbal is not being picked for the World Cup in Australia. It is not the case that he is being excluded or removed. The cricket operations department feels there is no need to take him.”

Nafis was the team manager of the Bangladesh team last against the United Arab Emirates. This was his last series as manager.

Rabid Imam will serve as caretaker manager until the T20 World Cup. BCB can appoint a new manager after that. Rabid Imam’s first series as a manager will be the tri-series in New Zealand in October this year.
