Super Four: Sri Lanka invites Afghanistan to bat

The Super Four phase of the Asia Cup started today with the top four teams from the group stage. In the first match, the two teams playing in the opening match, Afghanistan and Sri Lanka, are facing each other.

Sri Lankan captain Dasun Shanaka has decided to bowl after winning the toss at Sharjah Stadium. Afghanistan beat the Lankans by 8 wickets in their first appearance in the tournament.

After losing the toss, the Afghan captain, who won two consecutive matches in the group stage, said, ‘We want to bat first, we want to put a good run on the scoreboard. Really happy with the way our bowlers performed. Hope they bowl well today. We played well against Bangladesh. We want to do well again.’

There has been a change in the Afghan team. Shinwari is playing because Azmatullah is ill. On the other hand, Sri Lanka is coming down with playing eleven in the Bangladesh match.
