India bowled first after losing the toss in the group stage. India’s two pacers Bhubaneswar Kumar and Hardik Pandya made Pakistan lose 9 wickets out of 128 runs. However, the last batsman Shahnawaz Dahani’s stormy innings of 16 runs from 6 balls gave Pakistan a fighting score. Pakistan scored 147 runs losing all wickets. Bhubaneswar took 4 wickets and Hardik took 3 wickets.
India got off to a bad start with a target of 148 runs. Although the initial shock was handled, the pace of the runs was slow for Team India. So at the end, India’s asking rate touched 11. Then Hardik stormed with the bat. He secured India’s win by scoring 33 runs off 17 balls.
After defeating Pakistan, India beat Hong Kong by 40 runs to reach the Super Four. And in the last match of the group stage, Pakistan defeated Hong Kong by a huge margin of 155 runs and advanced to the Super Four.
