Pakistan is pouring everything on the failure of the World Cup. As a result, there has been a change in the coaching staff. Former Pak pacer Umar Gul has been appointed as the pace bowling coach. And Saeed Ajmal has been appointed as spin bowling coach.

After retiring from all forms of cricket, Gul focused on coaching since 2020. He was the coach of Quetta Gladiators in PSL in 2021. Served in Afghanistan national team in 2022. This pacer, who played 47 Tests, 130 ODIs and 60 T20Is, also served for Pakistan this year for a temporary period. The 41-year-old was the bowling coach during the T20 series against Afghanistan. After that, he has the experience of performing the same duties in New Zealand.

Former No.1 Ajmal also has coaching experience in the Pakistan Super League. He was the bowling coach of Islamabad United. Ajmal ended his career in 2017 after playing 35 Tests, 184 ODIs and 64 T20Is. The total number of wickets is 447.

The first assignment of the two former Pakistan stars will be the Pakistan-Australia Test series. Which will start on 14 December. After that, Pakistan will play T20 series against New Zealand on January 12 next year.
