Last Sunday, India lost to Australia in the World Cup final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. In this defeat, not only the Indian cricket team, but the whole country is saddened. Many people are mentally disturbed. An organization in the country’s Gurgaon city has given a day’s leave to the workers to handle themselves in such a situation. Employees are overwhelmed by sudden leave.
According to the Indian media NDTV, a marketing agency in Gurgaon has given leave on Monday to the employees who suffered due to India’s loss on Sunday. An employee of that organization shared the matter on social media.
The worker named Diksha Gupta works in the marketing department of the company. As India has won 9 consecutive matches in this World Cup, he, like many, assumed that the cup would be won by the Indian cricket team this time. But what happened in the end, no one expected. So everyone gets upset.
In such a situation, everyone was surprised to receive the holiday mail from the office on Monday morning. Diksha wrote, ‘I get mail in the morning after waking up. I was shocked to read such an unexpected holiday mail. I and the rest of my colleagues were devastated when India lost. I did not expect to get such a holiday at the beginning of the week.’
Diksha’s post went viral on social media. Photo: Taken from XDiksha Gupta posted the incident on LinkedIn and X along with the screenshot of the holiday mail. The mail read, ‘Hi Tim! The impact India’s loss in the World Cup has had on our team members is understandable. The company has decided to give a day off to overcome this bad time. We hope that everyone will overcome the pain of this defeat and come back stronger.’
Diksha’s post went viral on social media. Many have shared and applauded the initiative of the organization.
