Bangladesh cricket team has returned home after the World Cup mission full of failures. The Tigers went to India with the dream of playing in the semi-finals of the tournament but managed to win only two matches. Despite being the eighth out of 10 teams, a huge amount of money has entered the account. Tiger Army has earned about 2 crore rupees.
On Sunday (November 12), the Tiger Army arrived at Shahjalal International Airport from Pune, India at 10:15 am. In their last match, Bangladesh lost to Australia by a huge margin of 8 wickets.
Bangladesh has played a total of 9 matches in the round robin phase of the current World Cup. Among them, Shakib Al Hasan has tasted victory against Afghanistan and Sri Lanka. And because of winning these two matches (80 thousand dollars) which is about 88 lakhs in Bangladeshi currency, the Tiger Army has received. In other words, the Bangladesh team has earned around 44 lakh taka per match. Moreover, the red-green representatives will get 1 crore 10 lakhs in Bangladeshi taka ($1 lakh) for playing in the first round of the World Cup. In total, Bangladesh has lost about 2 crores in pocket.
On the other hand, the champion team of the World Cup will receive 40 million US dollars as prize money (which is about 44 crores in Bangladeshi currency). The runner-up team will pocket 2 million US dollars (which is about 22 crores in Bangladeshi currency). The two teams eliminated from the semi-finals will receive 8 lakh US dollars (Bangladeshi currency which is 8 crore 78 lakh taka). The six teams eliminated from the round robin league stage will receive 1 lakh dollars or 1 crore 10 lakh Bangladeshi taka.
