But according to the ICC playing conditions in the World Cup, the batsman has to be ready to face the next ball within 2 minutes, not 3 minutes. Matthews couldn’t get ready in time to change his helmet. As a result, he was ‘timed out’ according to the law. Mathews is seen talking to the umpires in an excited manner. Mathews is seen throwing away the helmet that caused so much controversy.
