A Bangladeshi youth named Minhaj (19) was killed in firing by the Indian Border Guard Force-BSF on the Dinur border of Dinajpur. In this incident, 2 more Bangladeshis are missing, the locals said. The deceased Minhaj Dinajpur is the son of Jahangir Hossain of village Khanpur Bhitarpara of Askarpur Union No. 9 of Sadar Upazila. The 2 missing youths are Emtazul (30) son of Latiful Islam of Khanpur Khudihara village of the same union and Sagar (20) son of Salman of Bhitarpara village of the same union. Some say they are under treatment for 2 gunshot wounds. But its truth has not been found yet. Last Wednesday around 11:15 PM, 5 shuntki traders approached the border of Main Pillar No. 315 of Dainur BOP when BSF personnel opened fire on them. This resulted in the death of Minhaj. Dinajpur Kotwali Police Station Acting OC Tanvirul Islam and No. 9 Askarpur Union Former Chairman Ziaur Rahman Zia confirmed the matter.
Local residents said that Minhaj was shot dead when BSF opened fire on the border. Minhaj’s body is in Teliapara area under Harharipur BOP camp in South Dinajpur, India.
In this regard, the captain of Dinajpur-29 Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) called several times on his cell phone, but the phone was not received. However, Naik Subedar Akhtar Hossain of Dainu BGB BOP said, we have sent a letter to BSF in this regard. BSF has replied to the letter. At any moment, a decision will be taken to return the body through a flag meeting.
